BAND

WELCOME TO OUR BAND PROGRAM!

At OCA, our band program is more than just music — it's a ministry, a community, and a way for students to glorify God through their talents. We believe that music is a gift from God, and we strive to cultivate students' abilities in a way that honors Him while fostering creativity, discipline, and teamwork.

The band program at OCA is open to all students in grades 5th-12th. All band students will participate in a concert band ensemble. Students will also be given the opportunity to participate in pep band, jazz ensemble, ensemble competition, as well as individual pursuits such as solo competition and All-Region/All-State Competitions.

Our band program is dedicated to:

• Developing technical skills and a DEEP appreciation for the power of music.

• Instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.

• Encouraging students to use their talents to enrich their education and serve their community. 

• Creating a positive and structured environment where students can thrive musically and personally. 

WHAT STUDENTS EXPERIENCE IN OUR BAND PROGRAM

• Instrumental Instruction - Students receive high-quality instruction on a variety of instruments, building a strong musical foundation.

• Faith and Music Integration - We emphasize how music can be used to praise God and inspire others.

• Concerts - Our band performs at school events, solo competitions and All-Region/All-State Competitions.

• Collaborative Learning - Students develop teamwork and leadership skills through ensemble playing and mentorship.
