Fine Arts

  • band

The band program at OCA is the newest addition to our fine arts department and is open to students in grades 5-12. Students primarily enjoy participating in the concert band ensembles, but extra opportunities for performance are available through the pep band and drumline during football and basketball season. Students are encouraged to participate in district and state solo and ensemble competition as well as represent OCA in regional honor bands. Despite the many opportunities for performance, our focus is always on quality education. We play a wide variety of music fit for a diverse audience, but always at our very best. Please contact us for more information about our band program!

  • choir

Oklahoma Christian Academy enjoys a rich heritage of praising God through song. Our bodies were uniquely designed by the Creator to sing, and the Bible tells us it is His desire that we use that masterful design to lift praises to Him. While a broad range of musical styles are learned and performed by the secondary choirs, our continual focus is that we "...will sing with the spirit and (we) will sing with understanding" (I Corinthians 14:15). We pray that every student who chooses to be a part of choir at OCA will grow as a uniquely created child of God and will learn to use vocal music as a vehicle to impact the world around them for the glory of our heavenly Father. We would love for you to come sing with us.

  • drama

Students from elementary through high school have many opportunities to participate in OCA theater productions. From special events like our summer theater camp or the fall week-long music theater with Missoula Children’s Theater, to theater classes in our secondary curriculum, to our campus-wide spring productions, OCA Fine Arts welcomes students of all skill levels to experience theater. Our high school theater group, known as “Parables,” combines the stage with the Bible to explore God’s design and His story through character study, performance, and one-act competition. Recent OCA Theater productions have included The Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, and Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.

  • visual arts

The visual art division of the fine arts department at OCA has plenty to offer our students. From the very basics to advanced concepts, to AP Art, OCA offers extraordinary opportunities. Curricular choices include multiple levels of visual art, photography, and graphic design. An after-school art club is available for students wishing to hone individual skills with direct instruction from our teacher. Visual art students also have the opportunity to put their skills to the test by assisting with stagecraft, theater set painting, and even campus beautification with chalk murals or decorative word art.
